• Bilge Köprülü biography. Background more in design than fashion, Bilge Köprülü became interested in shoe design and manufacture in 1998. During her time at I.T.U., she changed her focus from Urban Planning to Industrial Design. After college, she took part in some internship and then travelled to Italy, where she worked at a manufacturer. This gave her first-hand knowledge of how the manufacturing process is done, an essential part of design. After that, she began to make some samples and prototypes. She set up an atelier and made a portfolio as well as began to work in some manufacturing houses in Turkey doing design. These manufacturers require that their models are designed for mass production.
• Ciccì Coccò shoes. Ciccì Coccò is a brand which is designed by Bilge Köprülü and promoted by boutique “LAZY”, located in Istanbul, Turkey. All styles are hand finished using the finest of leathers, skins and materials. Ciccì Coccò shoes are designed using genuine leather such as nappa, suede, aniline, cow, goat and patent leather on the upper shoe and also on the lining. The extra materials are like semi-raw fabrics, ropes and cotton…etc. The production method is totally by hand made. Insoles are padded for extra comfort and other features include raised seams, hand stitching and hand crafted adornments.
