The company was founded in 1993 and is based in Vista, California. DC Shoes originally stood for “Droors City Footwear”, but since the sale of Droors (which is now defunct), DC no longer has ties to Droors and is simply it DC and shoes.

Over thousands of pagans are looking for the skate shoes everyday. It is the trend now. Its t-shirts and shoes are so hot that you’ll see almost everyone wears its gear in any skating event in US or Europe.

DC Shoes shoes

DC Shoes has garnered the attention from the skateboarding lovers all over the world. Its skates shoes are the indispensable shoes US and worldwide skaters long for.

  • The DC Shoes video. It is a 2003 compilation of skateboarding tricks by various skateboarders sponsored by this brand. It is approximately 46 minutes long and was produced by former pro skateboarder Greg Hunt. It has been released on VHS, DVD, and UMD for PSP. It features Danny Way performing on the DC “mega ramp” at Point-X Camp, on which on the 12th June 2003 he consecutively broke the world records for longest distance jump (backside 360) and highest air (23.5ft backside air) together in the same run.Other skateboarders appearing in the video include Rob Dyrdek, Ryan Gallant, Josh Kalis, Colin McKay, Anthony Van Engelen, Brian Wenning, and Stevie Williams. DC Shoes sponsors sports teams and events, working to create skater-friendly environments. It remained one of skate boarding’s top brands and has been able to successfully gain nationwide, mall-based distribution while keeping hard-core skateboarders loyal by offering exclusive designs through skate shops only.
  • In popular culture. Travis Barker, member of pop punk groups blink-182, Transplants and +44, had a shoe and hat line influenced by him called DC Travis Barker remix. In 2003 and again in 2008, Linkin Park frontman, Mike Shinoda, teamed up with DC to make his own line of DC “remix” shoes. The line is known as DC/MS. The project featured a “great juxtaposition of Mike’s unique influences: accomplished artist versus recording-breaking musician, American upbringing versus Japanese heritage.” The DC/MS line ended up making two different shoes, Xander and Pride. Both shoes were made available to purchase on August 1, 2008. In 1999 Mark Alexander and Matt Beach, from Jacksonville, Fl, teamed up with DC Shoes and Monster Energy after placing 1st (Beach), and 3rd(Alexander), in the X-Trials in St. Petersburg. Anyway, the fact is the world loves this brand, Pay DC Shoes stores a visit if you want to see more clothing and gear that will make you cooler than ever.
  • Does Rob Dyrdek own DC Shoes shoes? Rob Dyrdek, an American professional skateboarder, actor, entrepreneur, producer, philanthropist, and reality TV star is sponsored by DC Shoes, Alien Workshop, Spy+ Optics, and Monster Energy drinks. Dyrdek owns Reflex Bearings and Silver Trucks, he also is part of the team that owns the brand Rogue Status with musician Travis Barker. Wild Grinders, a fictional cartoon skate crew, are Dyrdek’s first venture into toys based on him and his group of childhood skateboarding friends. The line consists of six characters. Dyrdek also pioneered the iSX, Instant Scoring Experience, which he hopes will revolutionize the way skate competitions are held. He also has a sunglass eyewear company, Battle Eyewear, as well as being the founder of the Street League skateboarding league. Dyrdek also has his own signature TAG Body Spray scent called Make Moves. A fraction of the profit will go to his charity organization, “Safe Spot Skate Spot.”
