Lacoste shoes

Here’s your delicious A-list of Lacoste shoes. Lacoste is a high-end apparel company founded in 1933 that offers sportswear apparel for men and women, as well as shoes, eyewear, watches, fragrances, handbags and luggage, belts and home textile.

Lacoste is born of the inventiveness of a tennis champion, René Lacoste, who created the first polo shirt ever, initially for himself and for his friends, to be both relaxed and elegant on and off the tennis courts.

Nicknamed the Crocodile by the press in the late 1920′s when he was a multiple Grand Slam tennis champion, René Lacoste had the animal embroided on the blazer he wore on court, before making it the logo of his famous polo shirt. Today, Lacoste is famous for its iconic polo shirt, available in a wide color palette every season.

Lacoste shoes

Lacoste has been recognized by its green crocodile logo. This logo has become synonymous with the classy, stylish designs found in the brand.

  • History of Lacoste. Founded in 1933 by Jean René Lacoste, a French tennis player and André Gillier, the owner and President of the largest French knitwear manufacturing firm at the time. They began to produce the revolutionary tennis shirt Lacoste had designed and worn on the tennis courts with the crocodile logo embroidered on the chest. In addition to tennis shirts, Lacoste produced shirts for golf and sailing. In 1951, the company began to expand as it branched from “tennis white” and introduced color shirts. In 1952, the shirts were exported to the United States and advertised as “the status symbol of the competent sportsman,” influencing the clothing choices of the upper-class. Bernard Lacoste took over the management of the company from his father René in 1963 and significant company growth was seen under his management. So far, Lacoste is still one of the most popular brands in the United States, sporting the “preppy wardrobe”.
  • Hollywood supporters. Lacoste’s popularity hasn’t had as much of an impact on the Hollywood stars but has a huge hit with sports stars, especially tennis players like Serena Williams and Roger Federer. Its popularity has surged due to French designer Christophe Lemaire’s work to create a more modern, upscale look. Lacoste’s visibility has increased due to the contracts between Lacoste and several young tennis players, including American tennis star Andy Roddick, French rising young prospect Richard Gasquet, and Swiss Olympic gold medalist Stanislas Wawrinka. Lacoste has also begun to increase its presence in the golf world, where noted two times Masters Tournament champion José María Olazábal and Scottish golfer Colin Montgomerie have been seen sporting Lacoste shirts in tournaments. The average cost of Lacoste shoes is fairly reasonable usually fall just over $100, while some cost slightly more or less.
  • Lacoste signature style. Its signature style is a combination of athletic, casual and comfortable designs with attention to detail and exclusive features which are truly different from other sportswear company. A combination of collared tees, button-up dress shirts and sporty running shoes make up a large percentage of its collection. Of course, all designs present the crocodile logo to indicate authenticity and Lacoste true style. In addition, Lacoste has also successfully designed a multitude of shoe designs. It has taken an athletic approach to designer fashion and has incorporated a number of running shoes and other athletic styles into its inimitable shoes collection. As such, the collection offers a wide range of athletic shoes in a variety of colors such as blue, white, black and most of the shoe styles are similar to running shoes. From head to toe, Lacoste has everything you need to work and play in style.
